The Unachieveable

All around me they flutter. Flit and dance about in the air, glittering. They ascend, they alight, they land, they fly. They are not too hard to catch. I held one in my hand not a minute ago, but there is one that is... different. It glitters, and shines, and it beckons me. But, every time I reach for it, it flutters out of my reach. Every time I step toward it, it backs away just enough that I can't grab it. But oh how close I've gotten. Oh how close I must be to catching it. It has to slip up sometime, it has to. The others are just distractions, I know they are. It put them there to keep me from it. Those I can catch, so they are not worth it. Those do not gleam like this one. I will have it. Oh, missed it again. Oh well, I will have it some day, I have to.
